Hi, I'm Christy Romero,
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, humanistic, and attachment-based. I am EMDR certified and integrate evidence-based practices including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and somatic work. My goal is to help clients feel safe, supported, and empowered as they move toward healing and growth.
I believe meaningful change happens within a trusting therapeutic relationship. I tailor my approach to honor each client’s unique needs, strengths, and lived experiences, meeting them with curiosity, respect, and compassion.
I strive to offer a warm, compassionate, and approachable presence where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I am a lifelong learner and am deeply committed to ongoing training and professional development so I can provide thoughtful, effective, and ethical care.
Outside of my professional work, I am a wife and the mother of five children, ranging in age from 26 to 3. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting and listening to audiobooks. My own self-care includes evening bike rides or baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies—simple practices that help me stay grounded and present, both personally and professionally.
My Education and Background
I have worked in the mental health field since 2000 and bring over two decades of experience supporting individuals through a wide range of life challenges. Since 2007, I have served as a high school counselor, which has given me extensive experience working with adolescents, families, and complex developmental concerns. I began my private practice in 2020, where I continue to work with individuals seeking meaningful growth and healing.
